Authorities to impose restrictions in Old City on Saturday | KNO

In wake of shutdown call on Saturday, authorities decided to impose restrictions in parts of Old City in Srinagar district. “According to the District Magistrate Srinagar, restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safakadal, and partially in Kralkhud and Maisuma in district Srinagar on January 13 (Saturday) as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident”, an official statement issued here said. The restrictions shall not be applicable to government employees, universities, essential services like banks or those taking or invigilating exams, the statement said. Pertinently, the Joint Resistance Camp comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwiaz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik called for complete shutdown on Saturday against the killing of youth in Khudwani on January 9.
